Supervisor Bonnie Neely announced at today’s Board of Supes meeting that “there will be no removal of ancient old growth redwood trees” at Richardson Grove along highway 101.

Who we are:
HUMBOLDT FOREST DEFENSE is an association of direct action forest defenders cooperating to prevent old growth logging, clear cutting, and herbicide use in the Humboldt County area. We employ non-violent tactics to achieve our goals.
We do not ask for funding or donations, this is simply an informational center with no need for an office, operating costs or overhead. Please visit our action links at the top right of our blog to help our collective actions continue.

The trees have no voices. They have stood through centuries of the time our world has created, we are merely passing through and have no right to destroy what has been born so long before our own time and what will perish many generations after our own lives.
Please give your voice to these ancient survivors, we must fight for the future they will have long after our time is gone. Katy Stuck, Berkeley, CA
